“It is vital that organizations create a culture where child sexual abuse is discussed, addressed and prevented.”
-Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Preventing Child Sexual Abuse within Youth-Serving Organizations: Getting Started on Policies and Procedures
If you are a leader at an organization that serves youth, you understand how important it is to make sure the kids in your care are safe. Unfortunately, predators seek access to children in community settings. In addition, you may know a child who is struggling because of abuse that happened at home or other settings.
In our Child Safe Policy consultation sessions, leaders from youth-serving organizations receive guidance to review and strengthen the organization's child protection policies. You’ll recieve resources you can easily adapt to your setting. Key areas discussed include:
-
Screening of staff/volunteers
-
Background check basics
-
Code of conduct for staff/volunteers
-
Staff and volunteer training
-
One adult/one child interactions
-
State reporting requirements
