The professionals who help families after reported child sexual or other severe abuse are from many different organizations—and they all work together as a team at the Memphis Child Advocacy Center.
The Shelby County Child Protection Investigation Team (CPIT) is headquartered at the Memphis CAC. CPIT is 15 agencies strong. We believe that no single agency has all the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to provide the assistance needed by abused kids and their families. Together, we are much more powerful.
The mission of CPIT is, “to work together through a collaborative, inter-agency approach to ensure the best possible outcomes for children who are victims of sexual abuse and other severe physical abuse.” CPIT partners work under a shared protocol.
